About SLAIH
Slovak Language AI Hub (SLAIH) is an initiative aimed at developing language technologies for Slovak.
Our motivation
Slovak is among the languages with limited resources in AI. Datasets, models, and tools exist, but are scattered, hard to find, and often incomparable. SLAIH was created in response to this situation - so that everyone working with Slovak has a clear and reliable overview of what exists and how individual solutions work.
What we do
cataloging resources (datasets, models, tools for Slovak)
benchmarking models (comparisons across tasks and metrics)
mapping the ecosystem (people, teams, and organizations)
spreading information about developments in the Slovak NLP ecosystem
How the project works
SLAIH is an open initiative that is continuously growing. Content is created through a combination of our own contributions, community collaboration, and publicly available sources.
If you want to contribute - add a dataset, model, or benchmark - contact us at contact@slaih.sk.
Who's behind it
SLAIH is an open initiative focused on supporting the Slovak NLP ecosystem. Organizationally and developmentally, the project is currently overseen by the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (KInIT), which is actively involved in building and managing it. KInIT has long been engaged in research in AI and NLP - including developing datasets, models, and benchmarks for Slovak. SLAIH naturally builds on this work and creates a broader framework for it. The goal is not a closed platform of a single institution, but an open space for collaboration. In the future, we want to gradually involve other organizations, research teams, and individuals who care about the development of Slovak NLP.
We want SLAIH to gradually evolve from a resource catalog into a living platform for Slovak NLP. This means expanding benchmarks with new tasks, engaging more organizations and individuals, and supporting new collaborations. Slovak deserves AI infrastructure as strong as larger languages - and SLAIH wants to be part of how we get there.
